released the new 4S phone with Siri —an early edition virtual assistant built-into the operating system; which continues to amaze almost everyone.
A group of Android developers responded with “Iris" (siri spelled backwards, get it?) that they claimed to have developed in 8 hours. I now have the second version of that installed in my phone; and I notice that over 500,000 folks installed it, too.
A friend of mine, David, was bragging about the questions he was asking to his Siri, including math problems. He asked 9 x 245; and Siri answered with 2,205.
I wanted to put Iris to a similar test:
Me: Iris, what is 9 times 245?
Iris: I have to think about it. Will tell you the answer tomorrow.
…so I wanted to make it easier on Iris:
Me: Iris, what is 4 minus 3?
Iris: I’m not Siri. But I will grow up to become one!
Okay, so far I cannot really get much use out of Iris, but surely she’s fun!
